President Magufuli Provides Forgiveness For Prisoners 5678 In Celebration Of 55 Years Of Freedom Of Tanzania Mainland

In celebrating 55 years of independence of Tanzania Mainland on 9 December 2016 the President of the United Republic of Tanzania for use of the powers conferred under Article 45 (1) (d) of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania has offered amnesty to prisoners following : -
(I) All the prisoners have lightened one-sixth (1/6) of their bonds more discounts usually given under section 49 (1) of the Prisons Act Chapter 58 unless the prisoners listed in Article 2 (i-xx).

(Ii) Prisoners sick with diseases like AIDS, tuberculosis (TB) and CANCER (CANCER) who are the "terminal stage". Prisoners who have been approved by the Panel of Physicians under the chairmanship of RMO / DMO.

(Iii) the elderly prisoners aged seventy (70) or more whose age has been verified by the Panel of Physicians under the chairmanship of RMO / DMO.

(Iv) of female inmates who enter prison pregnant, including those who entered with children who suck and suck.

(V) prisoners with physical disabilities and mental (Physical disability and mental disability) whose disability has been confirmed by the Panel of Physicians under the chairmanship of RMO / DMO.

2.Aidha, this waiver of Mr. President is utawahusu prisoners as follows: -

(I) Prisoners who were sentenced to death.
(Ii) the prisoners were sentenced to death and the penalty was changed to life imprisonment or imprisonment.
(Iii) prisoners were sentenced to life in prison.

(Iv) Prisoners serving time for offenses of racketeering and trafficking and use of drugs such as cocaine, heroin, etc. bhangi

(V) Prisoners serving time for racketeering offenses and begging, receiving or giving bribes.

(Vi) Prisoners serving time for offenses of robbery and armed robbery or an attempt to commit such offenses (Robbery with violence, Armed Robbery and Robbery Attempt).

(Vii) Prisoners serving time for offenses found weapons, ammunition or explosives illegally (Firearms, ammunitions and Explosives).

(Viii) Prisoners serving time for offenses of indecent assault, defilement, rape and sodomy, or attempting to commit such offenses.

(Ix) Prisoners who have been convicted and sentenced for the crime of giving pregnant students in primary schools and secondary schools and who had committed the offense with the age of eighteen (18) onwards.

(X) Prisoners serving time for offenses of theft of motor vehicles and motorcycles or attempting to commit such offenses.

(Xi) Prisoners who are serving under the Board of Parole (Act. No. 25/1994) and the Social Services Act (Act. No. 6/2002).

(Xii) Prisoners who have been convicted and sentenced for the offenses of abusing their powers.

(Xiii) Prisoners who had been slighted button and forgiveness of the President and yet they still continue to serve the remaining part of the button.

(Xiv) Prisoners who have been convicted and sentenced for the offense to prevent children getting lessons.

(Xv) Prisoners who have been convicted and sentenced for the crime of child abduction, poker and make human trafficking (Human Trafficking).

(Xvi) Prisoners who have been convicted and sentenced for the crime of being diagnosed with human organs.

(Xvii) Prisoners who are serving prison terms for the offenses of racketeering and trafficking of kidnapped government and poaching (Poachers).

(Xviii) Prisoners serving time for offenses of theft / embezzlement of government funds.

(Xix) Prisoners who are serving prison terms for the offenses of escaping or attempting to escape custody valid.

(Xx) Prisoners who went to prison after the date 10/09/2016.
